This low light pistol course teaches the core fundamental principals for deploying a light source inconjunction with the semi-automatic handgun. The course will cover the 5 most common handheld light techniques, how the brain is impacted and how our vision works at night.

About the Event
This low light pistol course is for law enforcement personnel only! The course will begin in the classroom with training on various ambient light environments and situations, statistics related to diminished light officer involved shootings, impacts to the brain, vision, accuracy and neuro pathway disruptions to the shooter in low light situations. Next, we will cover the 5 common handheld light techniques, the situations when they should be deployed, and weapon mounted light operations. The course will finish with live fire solo and dual officer vehicle stops utilizing the handheld and weapon mounted lights.
Students will participate in group and individual shooting drills and individual assessment with direct interaction and training with the instructors. We will focus on proper utilization of the handheld light with a focus on speed and accuracy , performing reloads, clearing malfunctions along with movement drills and working around vehicles.
